You know the cliche dating Q&A where you tell someone you like long walks on the beach? Well I would fit right into that beachy fan-girl status.
You wouldn’t have known from my baby days though. My mom likes recounting one of my very first trips to the beach. Apparently, when I was a wee little one, I was a bit (and by ‘a bit’ I mean ‘a lot’) hesitant about the whole thing. Apparently baby-Rachelle refused to touch her toes onto the sand and made her parents carry her from the beach mat into the water. Once I made it safely to the shoreline, I was content to splash around in the warm ocean, then they would carry me and deposit me once again onto the sand-free mat. What a life.
Well, things have changed since those days and now I embrace the feeling of walking along the shore, whether barefoot or in ballet flats.
In this case, I went full force for a colourful beach outfit. As my man Bob Marley says, “Sun is shining, the weather is sweet”. So why not let the clothes sing along. I have a soft spot for flared skirts, so pulled this one out. To emphasise the hint of pink in the skirt print, I went for solid pink on the top. Then to finish it off, I accessorised with a mint crossbody, blue necklace for a minor pop and neon green ballet flats for a mega Bob-sing-along pop.
Don’t know about you, but now I got the song in my head on repeat. “Make you want to move your dancing feet”
Might as well embrace the music. Here’s a sweet house remix just for you. If you dig it, I’d love for you to sing along in the comments below!
